Yacine is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from Paris, France. He began his journey as a martial artist as a child, studying the arts of Judo and various other Vietnamese fighting disciplines. At the age of 18 Yacine discovered the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which he believes has changed his life forever.

He started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2004, at the Bittan academy in Paris, France under 3rd degree black belt, Patrick Bittan under Grand Master Flavio Behring (9th degree red belt and one of only 6 black belts given by Helio Gracie himself).

Over the next 6 years or so, Yacine had the honour of training with some of the biggest names in old school and new school BJJ in the world. He studied with the likes of Grand Master Flavio Behring & Robin Gracie (5th degree black belt and youngest son of Helio Gracie), to some of the best competitors and teachers of modern Jiu Jitsu. Such as, Roberto “CYBORG” Abreu (12 titles in the world championships, adcc 2009 silver medalist and grapplers quest champion), and Pablo Popovitch, who is considered to be one of the best NoGi fighters of all time (adcc champion, world NoGi champion, grapplers quest champion).

Yacine is the only Behring Jiu Jitsu/Bittan academy representative in Australia.

During his training Yacine also spent a lot of time training with fighters from various other methods, including MMA. He became an MMA trainer at the Bittan Academy and trained alongside some of Europe’s best MMA fighters.

Since moving to Australia, Yacine has been teaching MMA and BJJ at various gyms in Melbourne, including Ground Zero in the CDB, UFT in Berwick, Ceberano Karate Dojo’s in Port Melbourne, and Hammer’s Gym in Blackburn. Yacine is currently completing an RPL process (Recognised Prior Learning) with Jeremy Ta’kody as a TMMA affiliated coach.
